Went to Otahuhu Junior High School. Family, moved after she finished school, to a farm at Karapiro until her mothers death 1937 and then lived with her uncle Laurie in Onehunga.until her aunt Martha died 1960. While living with her uncle she did a mechanics course and became member ofThe Institute of Auto Engineering [Australia N.Z.]. Did a business course withDruleigh Business and recieved a Diploma 1940. Workerked as a cutter in a clothing factory for 2 years. During World War 2 served as a Motor Transport Operator. Went to work for Mignonette Ltd as a cutter and became manageress for 22 1/2 years.While visitng her brother at Horsham Downs met Mick Clarke and they married in 1967. Mick farmed dry stock and horses until his death in1980.Amy moved to a house in Mamata until about 2016 then she went to Pohlen Rest Care until her death in2018.She lead an active life while at Kakara St , a member of Craft and Care, enjoyed out door bowling. She looked after herself, did her own gardening and housework. |
